The small lake of Nuolpen, is located above the tree line, further up at the mountain from Laisaliden, and is the perfect destination for a combined walk and fishing trip for all the family.
It is quite a steep 2 km hike but, once you are above the tree line it really feels as though you are in the herart of the monutain wilderness. Fishing permits are required if you want to try a spot of fishing for Arctic Char.

Continue past the lake up to the top of Murtsertopparna.
Hemavan is what mountain life is all about. A smaller village near Vindelfjällens nature reserve, it has a vibrant cultural landscape, with an active settler and Sami life where the reindeer business still has a prominent role.
